Filigree Rose Ring

Filigree rings are a big thing at the moment, both in the high street and with independent designers. Unfortunately this doesn't mean they're always done well. The delicate wire work can often be rushed and the finish dull.

That's not the case with this gorgeous filigree rose ring from Temporary Secretary. Priced at £6.50 this piece features a glossy red rose and an intricate adjustable filigree ring. Grab this cocktail ring quick as it's a limited edition!

Tattoo Love Ring

Funky Junk Jewellery was one of the first designers I was introduced to on twitter. Months down the line, I still love the delicate rockabilly designs FJJ offers. This Tattoo Love ring combines the softness of the velvet covered heart, with the tougher edge of the Love tattoo slogan.

It's £7 and the ring is fully adjustable so great for someone like me who didn't inherit the elegant piano hands my family members who blessed with!

FJJ also offers super swag bags for £10, filled with over £30 worth of goodies!

Kitsch-tique: New Website, Discount, and Cupcakes!

Oooooh Kitsch-tique has a shiny new website! Even better, she's offering 15% off to anyone who uses the discount code BRANDNEW! Tempted?

Kitsch-tique has a really cute and kitsch range of accessories for the UK, like the cupcake earrings on the right. They're bank manager friendly at £4, and are also available in 3 other colours. It's also worth checking out the Acrylic Kitsch Bow Necklaces for £10, available in 3 colours including a more subtle silver that will go with most outfits.

I love you Postcard Necklace

I love the slightly vintage look of this  'I love you' Postcard Necklace from Love, Hearts and Crosses. The necklace is 18 inch long and gold plated, and the teeny postcard is just 27mmx17mm, and engraved with 'I love you'

It's only £6 too which is an absolute bargain compared to some of the other similar styles I've seen. Love, Hearts and Crosses is another Twitter find, and you can follow her here. Keep an eye on her twitter as she often runs some fabulous competitions!

Galibardy Starburst Ring

I can't take the credit for discovering Galibardy, that goes to Domestic Sluttery who did an interview with creator Lisa Galibardy a while ago. Her range is an eclectic collection of chunky 3D rings, necklace, earrings and bracelets.

My personal favourite is the Starburst ring on the right. It's £24 and I'm pretty sure I'd have someone's eye out when wearing it, but I guess you just have to make some sacrifices for fashion :)

Ji Ji Kiki Vintage 'Time for Tea' earrings

Ji Ji Kiki is one of my haunts for kitsch furnishings and accessories for the home. I didn't really realise that they had a strong range of jewellery too, especially vintage inspired pieces like the 'Time for Tea' earrings on the right. They're only £6, have some delicate flower engraving and make a lovely little gift for any tea lovers you know (so basically 90% of your friends!)

Liked the mis-matched earrings style? Check out the 'He who holds the key' earrings too.

ASOS Set Stone Lips Brooch

I've been dreaming about the Lulu Guinness Lips Clutch for a while now, but the £395 price tag is way out of my league. This Set Stone Lips Brooch from ASOS is a gorgeous little tribute to the design, and much cheaper at £10. It comes with a secure pin back fastening, and I'm in love with the shape and sparkly jewels adorning the lips.

Is it love at first sight for you too?

Arty Farty Gingerbread Man Brooch

I'm having a little bit of a love affair at the moment with pins and brooches. It always seems to surface this time of year when I dig out my coat and look at those lapels, which are crying out for some funky little detail to catch the eye. This Gingerbread Man Brooch by Etsy seller Tuckshop definitely fits the definition of eye catching.

It also ensures I have the soundtrack to Shrek stuck in my head all day. It's $14, and comes in a couple of similar styles for a necklace. Tuckshop is also home to some delicious looking jewellery including a pair of egg and bacon earrings and sushi pin brooch.

Bling and buy: Your guide to the best jewellery

Back at the start of 2009 I joined Twitter and discovered a treasure chest of independent designers, in particular some jewellery designers who create stunning pieces. At around the same time, I started reading some great fashion and make up blogs, and realised that there seems to be a bit of a gap in the market for a blog that brings a daily dose of jewellery to its readers.

So I set one up myself! I'm hoping I'll be able to bring you the cream of jewellery picks from Etsy, independent designers, and the high street. Picks like this 'Fly away with me Balloon Edition' from Etsy seller yellowgoat.for $96. Pricey yes, but it's made from sterling silver and she designs and hand makes every single item in her range.

I'd love to hear from you if you have any recommendations, or if you'd like to be featured.
